Boston is living a dream right now. The curse is over and the Sox have won the World Series.
And the Patriots are the Super bowl champs and 6-0 on their way to another Super Bowl run.

theres not doubt they battled hard to beat the yankees, alot of extra innings, and they showed heart.
They just simply demolished ST L.

Im not a big baseball fan, but that statistic last night, the beef of the STL batting order, the 3,4,5,, positions, had a total of .035 Batting average going into last nights game. What the fuck is that all about.

Its a great country we live in. Guys get paid multi million dollar a year contracts, and dont have to worry that they go 0-17 in a World Series.

STL was a poor competitor. How did they make it to the WS?

Is the Naional League that weak?

Congrats Boston fans, you deserved this one.

My take on the outcome........

Total Eclipse of the Moon Did you notice that last nite? Perhaps there was something surreal happening

Schilling When a guy will go through what he did to help his team, others on the team seem to dig just a little bit deeper within themselves. Reminds me when Donovan McNabb played 3 quarters on a broken leg....the team went 6-1 without him and with a 3rd string QB.

One out away The Sox were 1 out away from being eliminated in a sweep in the ACLS. Then the momentum began to build. Pretty soon, and after the first extra inning game, they began to believe in themselves.

Time to thaw out Ted Williams and put him on the flatbed for the parade!!

What a great moment !!

And what a good time to move your counseling practice to New England!

There are a lot of folks who have so embraced their own tragic view of life, reinforced by the Sox experience that they will feel like they have no identity once the celebrating is over.

I have had two buddies ***** me already complaining about the Sox chances next year!

My highlight was watching those moments when the "Curse" was clearly being reversed. Suppan running back and forth between third and home like some demon possessed maniac was the true sign that the curse had migrated from Bucky's bat to Buckner's glove to Grady's brain to Arod's Karate Chop and finally to Suppan's play perception.

DLowe playing up to his potential sealed the deal.

The curse has been reversed and the Sox are champs !

I wish my mother could have lived to see this. She was from Massachusetts and a huge Sawx fan (especially Carlton Fisk, or as she called him, Cahlton Fisk). 77 years and she never saw it happen.

Perhaps the Yankees and their fans can take solace in the fact that they were the only team in the playoffs to even give Boston any competition. While Anaheim and St. Louis both got swept, the Yanks took 3 games from Boston and had to be taken to extra innings in 2 of their losses to them. Of course, this and a nickel will get you a Bazooka Joe gum, but hey ......

Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but in the past 4 years the Yankees have lost twice in the WS and twice to the eventual WS Champs, no?

Yup. They lost to Anaheim and Boston in the ALCS in 2002 and 2004. Both those teams went on to win it all. And in 2001 and 2003 they lost to Arizona and Florida in the World Series. I guess next year they are destined to lose to a NL team.

I was thinking the same thing how the Yankees gave the Sox any competition. Boston got hot when it counted the most.

I'll probably be turning over in my grave when they when their next World Series 86 years from now in 2090.

Thumbs up

When the RedSox open their season in 2005 and raise their world championship banner, it will be none other than the New York Yankees in the other dugout. (This according to Mike and the MadDog as of yesterday) How's that for a begining of what should be an even better year for this classic rivalry.

I personally don't like either team, but I can't wait to see how nuts Steinbrenner goes. I'm betting that he hits 250 million in salary next year.

If you're looking for some sort of a pat on the back for the Yankee performance, don't hold your breath. Yankee fans only gave us grief every year that WE lost to the eventual World Champs, and then kept reminding us of The Curse. So it's payback time.

Just like the Buffalo Bills, who to this day are still mocked for their 4-year Super Bowl failure. They have one advantage though: after the dust cleared, they weren't left holding a Curse.
