Newcastle seemed to do quite well without a manager in their recent game where they qualified for another round of FA, by beating the Stokes 4-1, as Keegan sat in the manager's bench after the game had already started to the surprise and the delight of the fans.

Well this is until Benaldo returns with his insight about this choice and current challenges the teams faces.
I know it's very exciting but I will wait and see if the magic is still there. I am sure benaldo has a might keener insight on what's to come. If anything the spirits of the fans have been lifted. I will like to see them hold thier own against a more challenge team/

The best news I have heard in ages, I had the hairs standing up on the back of my neck when I saw his press conference. If he can bring in Big al as his assistant who knows what will happen....But we have an owner with billions and the dream management in charge so.......

Kev understands what its all about up there like NOBODY else, we just need a few more players and more importantly the players need a win or 2 to get back their confidence.

cant wait to see what is going to happen in the Black and white circus that is the TOON!

KEVIN KEEGANS BLACK AND WHITE ARMY!

I was laughing with your comments when Owen went to take off those balloons.
You guys were calling things like: "Sure, you can handle that" or "watch out, don't get injured".
Or when you were calling for the players to shoot, no matter where they were in the field. Hahahaha.

I would have joined if I knew for sure that you were there. I was sitting alone, right there, on the left side of the big screen. Were you the guy with glasses?

Maybe I will make it this Sunday again.
No that wasnt me, I was the Guy tall and screaming at the screen with the Newcastle brown shirt that was far to small for me hahaha...I was in the middle of Big screen.

Ran in there today, skipped out of work for the second half, it was shit....But we were all there and louder than ever, the Drum was back.... AND MORE IMPORTANT so was the the messiah Kevin Keegan!

I think Sam should have been given more time. Newcastle could have afforded a bad season and they will have one anyway.

Then, what is the point of firing a manager without making sure you will find a decent replacement. After the way Big Sam was treated serious managers will think twice before jumping at the offer.

Yeah Benaldo told me about NS and I liked what I saw there. A real Church of Football.

Of course, nothing like the Toon Army fans. Benaldo and friends were setting the crowd on fire. LOL.
I am glad the fat one got fired, he plays boring football and doesnt understand what the toon are all about, We are used to playing exciting attacking football, not lump it up the pitch like he did at Bolton.

He was hired by the previous owner, when you dont like what you see when you buy a business you fire and hire who you want, Mike ashley is a very sucsessful man and has made billions..its his club and he wants sucsess and i think Keegan has an un-finished job.

I have watched this team forever and keegan was the one who brought us up to the premier league and nearly won us the title. He only left because he didnt believe in the direction the then owners were taking the club.

Its a roller coaster, but hold on its going to be one hell of a ride...

Welcome back Benaldo,

Only a 0-0 today. A reminder that it is not easy to turn the tide in mid-season. We will wait and see. As Emily said "I will wait and see if the magic is still there".

Talking A joke from the Scottish League

Walter Smith asked Strachan, "how do you train when your team has as many injuries as us"

Strachan said "I use the bins from around the ground, and place them in strategic positions so my lads can dribble round them"

The next day Strachan rings Smith up and says

"how did you get on with the bins"

Uncle Walter says "Not so good the bins won 6-0"

the R word

Newcastle has only worsened. King Kevin has still a lot of work to do.

I still believe that changing hands in mi-season was not the best thing to do, but it was done now and I hope that it will work for the best for the Toon Army.

NU has been also extremely unlucky and low and fragile in morale.

from 1-0 against Aston Villa they lost 4-1 at the end.

Owen is definitively getting back to his best form but the rest of team has to follow.

Duff today mentioned the R word (relegation). Yes it has come to that and I hope the Magpies will survive.

I wonder what our friend Benaldo has too say on this.

African Up

I am sure none of you guys watched, but dozens of the best players from big European clubs were playing there.

I could not believe Egypt beating the Ivory Coast. And what a victory 4-1. I believe if they replayed the game 100 times, IC would win all of them. Much better team, but this is football, you never know what will happen.
Egypt was persistent and deserved to be in top four. I doubt if they are really the best team of Africa though (well they are now in paper).

Semifinals
Ghana - Cameroon 0-1
Nkong 71
Egypt - Ivory Coast 4-1
Keita 63 (IC), Fathi 12, Zaki 62, 67, Aboutriaka 90

Final
Egypt - Cameroon 1-0
Aboutriaka 77
