LOL!!! LW I was going to say that as well! We think alike! Did you see Kemp's reaction? He says he's going to go 50-50 next year.

Yanks signed Garcia for $5 mill - one year. Not a bad insurance policy but they really need another premier pitcher for the playoffs. Hughes and Nova have their moments but Nova is still real young and Hughes is an enigma.

Between Hughes, Nova and Burnett... I haven't seen that much talent on one team where each of the pitchers has some issue that prevents them from being great. These three have as much "stuff" as the Braves big three of the 90's.

MAybe this is the year some or all of them put it together and it becomes a huge year! I can tell you that I don't think Burnett will ever have a very good year. I am actually hoping that they can trade him for someone who has an equally repulsive contract. ... For example ... Zito ... Zambrano? Anybody else.

I hate Burnett so much that I would be willing to try anybody else. Zambrano is a nut but when he is on he can pitch. I think Burnett had the highest era of all starting pitchers with something like 150 innings. That's saying a lot. Maybe he will just blow out his arm in spring training and be done for his career.

He is a good baseball man. This whole situation does have the potential to implode though. This will add even more juice to this Yankee - Red Sox rivalry ..... if that is possible.

I think it wil implode on them. As far as him being a good baseball man, how come no one in MLB hired him over the last 10 years? He had buy out options in his contracts in Japan but yet no one from MLB took him. I couldn't stand him as a broadcaster because he thought his shit didn't stink (IMO). The only thing that he will do (or try to do) for Boston is bring some discipline to the team and stop all the BS that goes on there.

DOn't get me wrong. I think he is a total douche. I am still amazed how the 2000 Mets made it to the world series. They were not a good team at all yet Bobby got them there. Have to give him credit for that. I think nobody gave him a job because he is real difficult to work with.

He's going to have a great relationship with the Sox GM who has already stated that he didn't want him there.

You're right on the money there Teps. Nothing like promoting a new GM and then killing his first decision and putting your own manager in place.

2 1/2 months till pitchers and catchers!

I think he did have offers... He was just waiting for the right job... I think he would have ended up with the Yanks had Goerge still be around...

He would have helped the Mets as a backup catcher/back up 1B and a DH in interleague games. He would have cost very little. He would have also brought a great attitude and would have been a great leader. Too bad. Jorge will definitely get a job somewhere if he wants to continue playing.

Joey you heard wrong... the real story is the Wilpons asked Jorge if he was interested in investing money with a friend and also offered to sell him 20% of the team. When Posada asked if he could be GM too, thats when the Wilpons said no, stating they don't want another Hispanic GM.

I think Il Pagliacco was just kidding around. SAndy Alderson was quoted in today's Newsday that they did not talk to Posada's agent but did not think it would be a good fit.

And he is right. It would be a horrible fit. I love Jorge, but lets face it. He is done... Mets dont need a Back up Catcher who is done... And plus, he did not handle his back up roll too well or professionally on the Yanks... I wish him well, but kind of thinks he should retire as a Yank.

Jose Reyes is a good player. They need to get rid of the last of the core and that is David Wright. Now that the fences are moved in for this guy, he should do very well so that By the July trade deadline, they should get a decent starting pitcher for him.
