Well there's a bit of a difference. One is pretty cut and dry, the other looks grim but hasn't yet been resolved.

Fessing up to the 'fact' that a politician('s) from your favored party is a thief, corrupt or obviously involved in a wide spread scandal is one thing.

Sticking your dick in a pussy and then finding out afterwards it's unclean and not so tasty is a bit different. They stuck troops in Iraq and meddled in ME affairs for years (the latter of which both parties are guilty of) and now they're... we're fucked. I think most will admit there's a problem (even half the pubs according to polls), thing is they (both pubs and dems) can't figure out a safe exit.

What a schmuck.... won't even admit it your wrong with all the evidence staring you in the face.

In a way I feel sorry for you (when I'm not laughing). It's sheep like you who've allowed the worst of mankind into power because of their blind beliefs in them, that they throw their total trust blindly behind them. And even when their wrongs are staring them in the face..... they refuse to believe it.

There's also another way to look at it...

Abramoff as we all know is a dedicated staunch republican. So it be kinda 'iffy' for him or his wife to bedirectly handing $'s to a democrat... However... if it's done thru his firm, partner, client, associate, skybox etc... he can still make his bribes and still show face and not have to explain his actions to his posse at those GOP fund raisers and polo clubs.

Justbill would have us believe that the guilty dems are as innocent as the mobsters who filter and launder dirty money thru thrid parties and they claim clean hands too.

But again... we're talking to a hypocrite who loves his double standards.

So I'll do some more reaching here Since you seem to be reading challenged, let's walk through the msnbc article on Dorgan.

"Dorgan met with the tribe’s representatives and collected at least $11,500 in political donations from the Abramoff partner representing the Mashpee around the time of the help." Partner ≠ client

"Collected $20,000 from Abramoff’s firm and tribes" Firm ≠ client

And as to Harry Reid, from

    http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=10000103&sid=aBTFEkGJUbSI&refer=us

"Reid spokeswoman Tessa Hafen said the senator is still considering whether to return the $60,000 in donations he received from Abramoff associates and clients. The money includes contributions that came from Abramoff's former employer, Greenberg Traurig LLP, a lobbying and law firm with multiple issues in Congress." associates ≠ client and former employer ≠ client

So what have we here - a double standard perhaps? Republicans are scum if they took $#$ from Abramoff clients, but Dems only if they received benjies from Abramoff's own hand?

No wonder you're such an expert on "truthiness" - takes one to know one.

    Bahahahaha.

You know the internets, thanks Dubya for coining that, can be a tool for good things. Most people when they do research on the internets using Google usually read the whole article and not the snippets that come up in the search window. I’m sorry I meant to say most intelligent people not you.

So heres a link to Capital Eye a money-in-politics newsletter published by the Center for Responsive Politics.
    Source http://www.capitaleye.org/about.asp

Now the Center for Responsive Politics is described as
A non-partisan, non-profit research group based in Washington, D.C. that tracks money in politics and its effect on elections and public policy. The Center conducts computer-based research on campaign finance issues for the news media, academics, activists, and the public at large. The Center’s work is aimed at creating a more educated voter, an involved citizenry, and a more responsive government.
    Source http://www.bapd.org/gceocs-1.html

Now if we go back to Capital Eye and look at their Jack Abramoff link you have http://www.capitaleye.org/abramoff_donor.asp

Which is a list of every politician Jack and his wife Pamela gave money to. So Ozzy if you can find a Democrat on that list that took money from Jack Abramoff I’ll do what a man would do, apologize and say “I was wrong and you’re right” However if no Democrat pops up on that list I expect you to do what you do every time you’re shown to be wrong and say, nothing.

On a different level if you want to talk about Abramoffs clients giving money to Democrats and Republicans, then lets, but it’s a whole different animal then Abramoff giving money to them.

BTW on that link http://releases.usnewswire.com/GetRelease.asp?id=59843 you left off

Paid for by the Republican National Committee. Not authorized by any candidate or candidate committee.

    Thanks...

And lets not forget Tom Harkin (D Iowa) who along with Harry Reid were bribed with cash and received gifts such as the use of Abramoff’s skybox for their fundraisers for helping with the National Indian Gaming Commission on behalf of some Indian tribe and their new casinos in Arizona (or Iowa ?).

Sunday afternoon, not much to do, so let me help Ozzy out here. Let's see.

We've got Sen. Byron Dorgan, D-N.D. Yeah, okay, so he gave it back when the shit hit the fan.

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10451500

Then we've got the Senate minority leader himself, Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev, who's in for 65 large

    http://www.thenation.com/blogs/thebeat?bid=1&pid=46591

And then there's presidential wannabee Hillary in all her weasley glory. But I guess 2 grand is only chump change.

    http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2006/1/5/125414.shtml

So you want to repeat that again, Bill?

Run Forrest run. 1st off, try proofreading what you're writing, I know its tough. 2nd, I wrote about a conservative blogger who just happened to co-found a meeting place, Redstate.com for like minded shitheads like you. 3rd, the Times was fooled, just like the Washingtionpost.com and the only "cover-up" by the Times is the one manufactured in your own limited intellectually challenged mind.

    http://utopiaguide.com/forums/showpost.php?p=534771&postcount=4

That lie was already answered. But let me repeat something, NO Democrat took one penny from Jack Abramoff but if you think you have some proof then post it.

I was talking about our left wing hypocrite fiend here, who never took the Times to task for the same reason he too this conservative website to task.

Just as he never takes a liberals or democrat to task for just as big a thieves as the republicans he posts about. Notice he shut his fucking mouth about Abramoff when news came out a couple weeks back that there were some democrats caught up in that scandal as well.

What the fuck are you squawking about.... What about Jayson Blair did I say that isn't an undeniable fact.

That a couple of editors or execs got forced out only proves their guilt in covering for the guy when they knew he was tainted long before it hit the front page.

You just can't take it that the flag bearer of left wing journalism was just as guilty (perhaps more so) than this conservative website you took delight in bashing.

You're a fucking hypocrite no different than the conservatives who tells us about morals and values while they are out fucking hookers in the backs of their publically paid for limo's.

While I disdain what the Times did in circling the wagons instead of coming clean, you can't honestly state that the rest of the print media didn't cover the story in complete detail, for days on end.

Glad to see you’ve taken that truthiness mantle (Truthiness is the quality by which a person purports to know something emotionally or instinctively, without regard to evidence or to what the person might conclude from intellectual examination. The term was coined and popularized by Stephen Colbert after he used it during the first episode of his satirical television program The Colbert Report, as the subject of a segment called The Wørd. ) I throw down for you and are running back touchdowns. Score so far, Truth 0 – Truthiness 28

The only thing Jayson Blair and Ben Domenech have in common is that their both lying scumbags, period. To bad Ben was pushing the moral superiority of conservatism v liberalism and their lock on supposed family values, love of country etc etc. Seems to me hes just another conservative 24 year old chickenhawk scumbag, whose all talk. Therein lies the irony of the whole situation, which I’m sure you saw right away.

BTW that was some cover-up by the Times, 2 top executives forced out, the office of Public Editor established and a huge article outlining their mistakes published http://www.nytimes.com/2003/05/11/national/11VERI.html?ex=11435****0&en=7de9a192737ad0a7&ei=5070

I was not aware that Jayson Blair covered politics.

He write news stories, not opinion pieces.

Calling him a left wing writer is a big stretch.

hehe, beat me to the puch, was about to post the Times and their long history of "covering up" regarding their staff; but good riddance, not because he is a conservative plagiarist (sorry Justbill), but rather because he is a plagiarist.
