Well, on sme restaurant tabs, I have seen a spot on the bill for "service charge." It never hit me what they might mean by that before.

IMO $20 for average service, $40 to round up to the even $200 if its really good. Not tipping anything makes you look like a cheap shmuck and you will be remembered that way on subsequent visits.

At Hooters I generally tip 15% for decent service.

20% for very friendly and attentive service.

25% if she brushes her hooters across me as she refills my coffee.

$100-$150 tip for bbbj and fs.

I've yet to inquire about Greek.

The Hooters girls could make a mint without even taking off their tops.

Tipping well for ordinary service does send the wrong message.

I get my shoes shined at a place that raised the price a while ago to three bucks. Because guys so often pay with a $5 bill, the standard tip suddenly went up from one dollar to two and the workers are annoyed if they don't get both of those dollars.

It's hard to figure out why but with the higher tips, service has actually deteriorated.

I went to see a particular provider for the first time IMO, I made the mistake of pre-determining what my tip was going to be before I had ever had a session with her. When the time came to pay, I didn't even think about what she deserved, i just payed it.

A very ordinary, perfunctory 1/2 hour session and I still tipped $30. I don't know if that is sending the right message.

You tip brothel girls for the same reason you tip waitresses -- their compensation scheme assumes it. I'd think that for a $160 fee, $30 would be an adequate tip and a $40 round-up to $200 would be generous and appreciated (assuming service warranted it).

i'm not a brothel person myself so FWIW, I wouldn't tip anymore than the total cost for an indie for the same amount of time.

OTH, an AMP will be about 1.5 for an hour for FS. Why are you tipping at all?
