There's a new indy movie called Diamond Men, about the life and travails of a 60 year old wholesale jewelry salesman in central Pennsylvania.and the newcomer he is breaking in. It stars Robert Forster of Jackie Brown fame and Donnie Wahlberg, Mark Wahlberg's brother. Part of the movie deals with and hinges on the relations between these salesmen and the madam and courtesans of a rural brothel called "The Altoona Riding Club" The director/screenwriter Daniel Cohen, said it is based on his father's life. So does anyone know if there really was an "Altoona Riding Club". It can be seen as both a "road movie", as well as a reflection on loyalty, loneliness, and capitalism. The brothel scenes are a mix of reality and movie fantasy, though the non real touches barely detract from the movie..
