Now that you told me I am running there.
re "what's HOF"
hall of fame (a section in ug)
re "what's HOF"
I'm so glad for not being the only one who doesn't know!
As a newbie, I'm terrified of saying something clueless and stupid!
and wait... the answer is?
It show's us newbie's some history
Yes. Why? Are there tentative plans for its removal from the site? I hope not. Some of that shit is just great.
nah, not much.
Ive read most of the threads when they were hot.
Can't you tell? It is a rhetorical question, no?
This is going to sound weird coming from me, but I actually like that a thread's inclusion in the Hall of Fame is based on an executive action, rather than a democratic one.
I'm puzzled by the rash of exhumations of old threads of late. I liked that they were buried, and you might need to have a three-digit I.Q. to find them.
(Is this place hitting its middle-age? I remember seeing a post or two here that posited that people knew for sure that JAG was doomed when the management started re-posting 2- or 3-year-old threads that had been long dormant, in an effort to provoke further exploration/discussion. I sincerely hope something similar is not happening here.)
As always, Slinkybender has his own reasons for doing what he does.
Basically it's stuff many of us have read already. Some will want to rehash the enjoyable stuff and some we probably won't the not so enjoyable.
But I think if it could be set up where the members of UG had more of a participation in the nomination process (a monthly poll) it would bring more attention to the section.
i've started to read it, since you asked this question.
(it came up as a new post)
I then realized that i had alreadly read it a long time ago.
I only stopped reading it because, nothing new was added for a while.
Now, i will check back very now and then, to see if you add anything else.
Yes. I always read it when you post a new one. It brings back memories. I think it is an important part of the board, it gives UG a sense of history. I also read it when there is a new topic that reminds me of the HOF thread.
I have selfishly only read Falling for a client and I have a confession to make! Mostly to remind me how immature and unstable I once was! Its sort of like reading your ****nal from when you were a teenager!
