And when you get back from the forest don't you dare track mud all over the house.
huhhhhh....God, my fuckin head hurts....either that or not enough sucky, sucky
This is akin to the classic philosophical problem:
If a man says something in the forrest and his wife is not there to hear it, is he still wrong?
The best definition I have seen is that a consultant takes information from his/her clients and then gives it back to them.
As for the profession vs hobby comment, that is somewhat accurate I suppose. Without trying to delve into exact definitions for those words and such, it is true that most of my work, consulting and otherwise, is motivated by a mixture of financial considerations and personal interests/desires/pleasures. Of course, much the same may be true of some (many?) sex workers.
Even if there was the same wear and tear (I'm not fond of this phrase especially in this context) she still has the right to charge what she wants. My only objection would be if she tried to make up for it by overcharging someone to make up for the discounted session. (but if you're the guy she overcharges and you don't know she overcharged you and paid the fee, then did she actually overcharge you?)
(Although, if I can be serious for a minute, in a sense I think you are "unprofessional" [in a non-pejorative sense] in your approach to your consulting work, in that from the sound of your post you treat it almost as much as a hobby as your profession.)
That's why people don't hate consultants as much as lawyers.
(The other reason is that nobody knows what the fuck consultants do.)
I'm with you Casper.
How anyone could think it was a bad thing to charge less (presumably(?) because there is less physical "wear and tear") is clearly delving into the psycology of someone whom he has NO FUCKING IDEA what her motives/thoughts are.
Are we referring to fucking lawyers who ask for $2K "retainer", charge $250 an hour and then keep the entire retainer for making 4 or 5 phone calls to the I.R.S. ? Those lawyers ???
(I'd rather get a covered blow job (LOL))

Come ditto your tongue all over me Baby..after that hot chat the other night...ummmmm.....
Re: Re: Re: Re: DATY
Fwiiw, none of these three (or 2.5) reasons made any sense at all to me. What is wrong with the lady exercising her option to consider any of these other factors in setting her fees?
For example, as a consultant I often do research/investigations at an hourly rate. I won't do them if I don't get paid and I also won't do them if I do not find them intellectually interesting/appealing. (There is an analogy here to your stripper "friend" paradox discussed in the "getting a handle" thread in General too.) Mostly I just charge a standard hourly rate. However, sometimes I will take significantly less if it is a problem I find particularly intriguing or a project from which I will learn more (which actually means that it is harder work, of course) or even because I think it might open up a new set of potential clients for me. Am I being unfair to myself? Is it unprofessional of me? I have never heard any such thing suggested before, and it certainly never crossed my mind that I might be doing something inappropriate or worse.
Good for him.
She has every right to charge him less if she feels like it.
I don't see how someone can think it's a bad thing.
How else would they be able to justify the extra billable hours when in fact they're posting on UG.
Re: DATY Fun (or not)
I guess it's like working at Carvel as a taster. Must be tough, day in, day out.
oops date comin...i gotta make sure I strangle this one good....I need some DATY!!!!!!!!!!
Not everybody is you.
Re: Re: Re: DATY
That's what makes it so fucking good.....
Re: Re: DATY
Let's say you fuck four or five or ten guys a day.
OR, let's say you fuck one guy a day, but five or six days a week.
Whether or not you're in the mood for it has no bearing whatsoever on when you have sex with all these guys.
And these are guys who mean nothing to you personally.
You can see how it could get irritating after a while.
